Love Knot Ring - Copper and Silver

Love Knot Ring - Copper and Silver

Click Image to Enlarge - The Love Knot Ring is a very old and traditional design. I enjoy making this ring with my own twist of making the two rings separately, ending up with two rings held together only by the knot that joins them.

The  Love Knot Ring in this picture is a combination of two different kinds of metal.  You can order any combination you like.  The most popular is the sterling silver and pure copper combination.  Next is the 14K gold and sterling silver.

You can also order the Love Knot Ring with both parts made from the same metal, pure copper, sterling silver or 14K gold.

Designer Copper Bracelet with Sterling Silver

Designer Copper Bracelet with Sterling Silver

This therapeutic copper bracelet has a slightly domed surface which gives it a more full appearance. It is made of pure copper and has a hammered sterling silver piece captured in the center. The smooth copper edges and the hammered silver center creates a beautiful combination of contrasting color and texture.

The way this bracelet is constructed makes it ideal for those who suffer from joint pain and some forms of arthritis. The copper is under and around the silver so the pure copper surface is against the skin. This is an important feature if you are looking for a pure copper bracelet for therapeutic reasons.

This bracelet is approximately 1/2 inch wide and is flexible enough to easily fit a range of wrist sizes. Select Small, Medium, or Large, or indicate the actual wrist size for a perfect fit.

The same design can be made in reverse. That is a Sterling Silver base and Pure Copper overlay design in the center. This however will not give you the copper against the skin for that therapeutic benefit.

Smooth and Hammered Pure Copper Bracelet

Smooth and Hammered Pure Copper Bracelet

This refined rustic look is a study in contrast.

Defining the center line is a smooth half round channel flanked on both sides with the hammer textured area that flares out and slightly  upward.

The upward flair of the sides on this pure copper designer bracelet makes it a very comfortable design.

Stone Holder with Millefiori Glass Pi Stone

Stone Holder with Millefiori Glass Pi Stone

This is my latest Interchangeable Stone Holder.  The Stone Holder is made of sterling silver and is in the shape of a paintr’s pallete.  The stone which can be easily interchanged with any number of Pi Stones or donut stones as they are often called, is not made of stone at all. It is made of  beautiful glass called Millefiori glass.

Millefiori is French and it means ‘thousand flowers’. Millefiori glass is produced by cutting cross sections of fused bundles of glass rods of various colors and sizes.

The end result in this stone holder is a perfect combination of glass, metal and colors that reflect the theme of the painter’s art.

Stump Work Bench

Stump Work Bench

I Thought you might like to see my jewelry work bench.  Unlike most jeweler’s benches, Mine is an old piece of ash from a tree that came down during a storm in 1976. I started with this stump, a railroad spike and a ball peen hammer.  Over the years, it has evolved along with my skills.  As you can see, now I have several railroad spikes that I have shaped and polished along with a collection of hammers and other various tools.  The box that it sits on is mounted on wheels so I can wheel it around to my favorite sun spots when the weather permits.

I now have a good size collection of custom shaped and polished railroad spikes and hammers to create the jewelry you see here and on my website.

The section on the right with a slot cut out of it was where a branch once grew.  The slot is used for sawing also called pearsing.

The ring mandrel has two locations. One on top and one on the side of the stump.

The copper ring in the foreground is ideal for holding all the pliers and cutters.  Very handy DIY (Do It Yourself)  jewelry bench.

Golden Mean Earrings

Golden Mean Earrings

Golden Mean Earrings which I also call the Mother and Child earrings, were created by using the Golden Mean Proportions also known as the Fibonacci Number Sequence. I divided a circle into 8 equal parts and then made the first bend at the point where the whole was divided into 3 and 5. (See a short span of the Fibonacci number sequence below.) The rest was forged into a domed spiral curve to merge the two sides like an opening flower.

The two domed ends are then curved  one over the other creating a cradle that follows the natural curve of the original circle. The results is this subtle sense of nurturing. Hence the name - Mother and Child.

The Three Turn Vortex Energy Ring With Stone can be made in sterling silver, pure coopper or 14K/18K gold.  This is a beautiful asymmetrical design with a vortex pattern on one side and a wave pattern on the other side. The design came about from a blending of two other designs. The Wave Style and the Vortex Style Energy Rings.

The 3 turns gives this Energy Healing Ring an inductance greater than .20 microhenries in a size 10. You can see how much inductance a different size has by using the Energy Calculator located here.

Copper and Silver Bracelet

Copper and Silver Bracelet

Click on Image to Enlarge - See More Bracelets
This Free Form Overlay bracelet is not your traditional overlay but a new and unique construction method created by the artist.  This designer bracelet is just under one inch wide with two free form wave edge designs accented by two wave cutouts I like to call ‘white caps’.  The smooth surface of the copper and the hammer textured sterling silver center are drawn together by the flowing wave shapes of the edges and the two cutouts. The slightly domed surface gives a look of fullness while still maintaining flexibility. This is considered a copper bracelet with sterling silver design because the copper is against the skin. The same concept in reverse would be a silver bracelet with copper design.
It is flexible enough to easily fit a range of wrist sizes. Select Small, Medium, or Large. Or indicate the actual wrist size for a perfect fit.  To measure your wrist, click here.

The same design can be made in reverse. Sterling Silver base and Pure Copper overlay design in the center.

Chakana - the Inca Cross

Chakana - the Inca Cross

Stone Holder inspired by the Chakana Cross, the symbol for the Inca Cross.

Also associated with the  Manay-Ki.  The nine rites of initiation to become a person of wisdom and power.

This interpretation of the Chakana is actually my new design for the Interchangeable Stone Holder. The interchangeable stone pictured here is Turquoise. The stones that fit these stone holders are round donut shaped and are called Pi Stones.

The Cross is made of pure copper with a glass bead textured surface. The  bail or holder is made of sterling silver.  Set in the center is a beautiful Almandine Garnet from Mozambique surrounded by a green Jade Pi stone set in a fine silver bezel.
There are many different perspectives on the meaning of the Chakana or Inca Cross. However, they all share some common elements.

From an Astrological perspective, the cross represents the star constellation known as the Southern Cross. The twelve corners represent the twelve months of the calendar year. The four prongs or arms represent the directions on earth (the Inca did not refer to the cardinal directions we are accustomed to).

Animals are used to represent the different parts of the Chakana. The middle horizontal area is the Jaguar or Puma. This represents the earth plane we live on. Above this horizontal middle area is the spirit world of the Condor.  The area below is symbolized by the Serpent representing the world of the dead.
